A Message from the New Superintendent

Subject: A Message from the New Superintendent
Dear Emerson School Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write to you as the new Superintendent of the Emerson School District. I am
truly honored to join a community so deeply rooted in its values and united by a shared commitment to
ensuring that this is a place where lives of learning begin.
Before coming to Emerson, I had the privilege of serving in a variety of educational leadership roles across all
grade levels, at both the building and district levels, most recently as Superintendent of Schools. As both a
parent and an instructional leader, I strongly believe that the most successful school districts are built through
strong partnerships between families and the district. From every child’s home to each learner’s classroom, I
know that when caring adults work together, we create schools where children feel safe, supported,
challenged, and inspired to thrive.
Together with the Board of Education and the district administration, I remain steadfast in our collective
commitment to providing every student with an exceptional educational experience and to thoughtfully
shaping the Emerson Experience as we bring the current strategic plan to a close and begin the important
work of developing a new one. This next phase of strategic planning will champion the success of every Cavo
through a balanced emphasis on academics, the arts, athletics, and extracurricular experiences, while
intentionally cultivating pathways to success in both school and life as we prepare our students to become
engaged global citizens.
Information regarding upcoming “Meet the New Superintendent” events will be shared in the near future.
Please continue to visit the district website for updates as we move forward together during this exciting
transition.
I look forward to meeting you throughout the remainder of the school year at district and community events.
In the meantime, please feel free to introduce yourself to me in person, via email, or at any school function.
Go CAVOS!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jillian Torrento, Superintendent of Schools
